Yellow collar boy Leaf will be a large (~65lb) sofa buddy. He is a softer, more reserved puppy who approaches the world with thoughtfulness rather than boldness. His human orientation is present but understated; he’s aware of his people and benefits from connection, but he’s not pushy or demanding about it.​ He does not have a competitive nature so will not be a good candidate for show, sport, or performance.

 

His sociability is on the lower side, preferring calm, familiar interactions over busy or highly stimulating environments. He’s not the puppy diving into the middle of everything—instead, he hangs back, observes, and engages when he feels comfortable.

 

Environmentally, he shows mild caution. New spaces, sounds, and experiences are taken in carefully, and he may need a moment to process before moving forward. His startle recovery and sound sensitivity suggest he notices change and can be affected by it, but with gentle exposure and consistency, he will build confidence over time.  ​He tolerates handling reasonably well, especially when it’s calm and predictable. His frustration tolerance and persistence are low - he’s not a “push through it” puppy. If something feels difficult or overwhelming, he’s more likely to disengage than power through, which means training will need to be patient, encouraging, and low-pressure.​

 

His engagement and drive are minimal, making him a quieter companion rather than a high-energy participant. However, one standout trait is his arousal regulation; he settles well and doesn’t escalate easily, which makes him naturally calm in the right environment.​

He will thrive with patient guidance, predictable routines, and a confidence-building approach to new experiences.
